Recap

1-21-13

Recap from last week's photo challenges.  Hey my lovelies!!!  So, last week, I'll be honest--I took all the pictures required for that day, but due to internet issues and trying to get my weekend ready for this week back to school, I just didn't have time to update the blog everyday.

So I'm going to do a quick recap of the photos from each day!

Day 14: Something yellow

Day 15: An ordinary Moment

So, we had snow on this particular day in Texas!!!  It was so beautiful!!!  An ordinary moment of the streetlight turning on was turned special because the snow was falling down! Perfect way to start my day!

Day 16: Two Things

Around here, the spring weather is confusing the flowers, so they are popping up prematurely.  Two beautiful daffodils!

Day 17: Ready!!

We are ready for some much needed rain in Mckinney, Texas!!!  This is lake Lavon!

Day 18: Shadow

I love the shadow the trees projected onto the ground at this local park in Mckinney, Texas

Day 19: Delicious!

Today I made some amazing cookies for the family!  Laura Bush's Cowboy Cookies-stay tuned for the recipe and step by step instructions for how to do it!

Day 20: Something you saw

Driving back to my boyfriend's house, we saw this in the car!  I love the shot!!

Alright friends, that's the recap for the week!!

Keep calm and carry your camera everywhere!

Britt

These little moments of mine

1-14-13

Hey friends!

Alright, I have a few things to go write down tonight and think about, so I'm just going to get to the point.

Photography Challenge Day 14: Something Yellow

I took this today in the parking lot of my daycare.  I was getting ready to come home and I turned and looked in the sky.  Amazing sunset in the Texas cold air.  I love this because it has just the right amount of yellow in it.  God truly is amazing and gracious!

Keep calm and stress free!

Soon the moon will illuminate my room

1-13-13

Hello friendlies!!!

It has been one very productive Sunday!!  I did some cleaning this morning, washed all of my linens and laundry and got rid of some things that are just honestly taking up space or that don't really go with my decor anymore.

Then, after showering and lunch I was able to go have some fun with my hunny.

While using my Strabucks gift cards tonight, I found my inspiration for my photography challenge.

Photography Challenge Day 13: Circle

This is the moon here in Texas tonight.  You can barely see the outlining to complete a full moon, but it's there.  So there's my circle~the moon.  So magical!

Alright friends,

Stay warm!

If I could rewind, both the hands of time....

1-12-13

So today on my way to my coworker's baby shower, I managed to get myself lost.  We are talking this drive should have only taken maybe 15 minutes at the most.  Nope, not this girl-I turned it into a 45 minute drive and showed up 30 minutes late.  It was all good though.

It was very fun!  You know you're growing up when you're looking at the home decor and counter space and dreaming about it.  :)

Anyways, onto the photography challenge.

Day 12: Surprise!

So this picture is from Christmas Day of 2012-it's very recent.  But here in Texas-it seldom snows, especially in December.

Well, this past Christmas Day, it happened to snow!!!  What a perfect Christmas present.  Definitely was a surprise for us Texas natives!

Alright friends,

Stay warm,
Britt

You make me smile :)

1-11-13

Hello all my lovelies!

So it is finally Friday!!!!  Finally!!!  My Friday has been very wonderful!  I went out this morning to get a baby shower gift for one of my co-worker's baby shower this weekend.  Wow, holy cow, baby stuff is soooo expensive!  My goodness!  But it turned out real cute, I'm sure she'll love it!

Then, after work I went on a date!  Super fun.

Photography Challenge Day 11: Water

This was my favorite part of the whole night-one on one time with my man.  We are a semi-long distance couple.  On a good day, we live an hour apart.  I only get to see him maybe once a week, so one on one time is perfect!!  This is probably my absolute favorite picture of us!!  The thing I love most about this man is he continuously can make me laugh, no matter what I am dealing with or going through.  And not the little laughs, like true blue, rolling on the ground, stomach hurts from laughing so much kind of laugh.  He inspires me in so many ways.  He gets me and understands me so well, it's almost scary.  We have been dating almost a 1 1/2 years and we have already been to the moon and back for each other.

In other news, it's supposed to turn off really cold this weekend in Texas!  It was 73 degrees today and by tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 40s!  Geesh-gotta love this state.

Alright friends,

Keep laughing through life's up and downs.

Britt

Day 10

1-10-13

Alright guys, once again I am posting late.  But, I'm finally getting day 10 up.

So, here it is:

Photography Challenege Day 10: 1 o' clock

So, as many of you have read previously, I am a daycare teacher.  Therefore, my one o clock is naptime for the kiddos.  While they nap, this is usually what I do-read or work on the classroom.  This is my current read-Daring to Dream by Nora Roberts.  I love her work!!!

Alright guys, have a great weekend!!

"didosors say moo"

1-9-13

Hey friends!

I know the title is slightly misspelled.  It is a direct quotation from one of my toddler babies today.  We were looking at books together and talking about the different animals in the book.  I then asked this baby girl what the dinosaur says, when another precious baby girl comes wobbling over and screams in our faces-MOOOOOOO!!!!!

...and so I came to realize I have been saying the wrong thing all along.  Didosors say moo, not roar...and it is not dinosaurs, but in fact didosors.  I love those kids-they teach me so much.

On days like today, it is very difficult to actually go into work.  See here in Dallas, Texas-it has become a freakin tsunami over the last few days.  RAIN, RAIN, RAIN....all day.  The kids haven't been able to go out and people have forgotten how to drive.  But we really need the rain.  At least, that's what I tell myself.

Onto the photography challenge for today:

Day 9: Paper

This is my footprint.  During naptime today I had to take off my warm sock and tennis shoe, proceed to paint my entire foot black and stamp it onto some paper.  Why??

We are making our feetprints into penguins to decorate our classroom door with.  So cute!!  I'll post pictures of it tomorrow.  :)

Alright friends,
Stay dry

I can't help but falling in love with you

1-8-13

Hello lovelies!!!

My oh my, what a wet and chilly day it is here in Dallas, Texas!!!  Gotta love this crazy Texas weather, one reason I am very proud to call myself a Texas gal.  :)

I was called into work early again this morning, we had 5 teachers total out today!  That is a lot when you work at a daycare.  As soon as I get there, I passed this little kindergartener.  He sings to me "...and I can't help but falling in love with you" in his own version of course.  He then gives me a hug and tells me he has a secret for me.  I bend down to hear this very precious secret.

....

....

His big secret was....

a sweet little peck on the cheek.

TOOO PRECIOUS!!

It's moments like those that get me through stressful days like today.

Onto the photography challenge.

Day 8: Something beginning with 'T'

Tahition vanilla bean hot chocolate with a mixture of popcorn for an afternoon snack.

Perfect for a cold rainy day like today.

Keep warm,
Britt

Ohhhhhh.....I'm bringing home a WHAT?!?!!

1-7-13

Hello my lovelies!!  :)

My Monday has been absolutely fabulous~that is very strange to hear these days, but it absolutely was a really good day!!!

Alright, so onto the photography challenge:

Day 7: Street

Warning: This photo speaks for itself.

Alright, so this is my brother, he's 17.  We were out running about a month back and we stumbled across this desk someone was getting rid of about 2 streets away.  Momma loves to collect things and turn them into something new.  So, we decided to go ahead and bring home this free desk.  We didn't really think it through and this is how it was brought home.  I was driving roughly 4 mph and he was holding the back end of the desk up, jogging.......

....we redneck rigged it, but hey-we did it!   It now serves as her table for her sewing machine.  I can only imagine the thoughts she had when she saw us!

Fun, Fun, Fun.

Alright guys, time to call it a night.

Stay creative,
Britt

Day 6: a day late and a dollar short

1-6-13

Hello lovelies!!!

So, once again, I am posting this late.  Sorry.  I had a very fun filled afternoon with my lovebug.  We went and saw the movie Parental Guidance and had dinner at Dickey's.  Pretty good stuff if you ask me.  By the time I got home, I really considered getting on the internet and updating...but, then I decided not to so that I could get a good night's rest.

Good thing I did!  I was called into work at 8:30 this morning.  Really great and fun time at work today!  You know you have a great job when you can walk away with a smile everyday.  And I actually mean that.  I thank God everyday for continously giving the me the setbacks he did, because I have definitely fell in love with my calling.

Anyways, today's photography challenge.

Day 6: Mine

The ability to hone in on your passion and make it a hobby.  I know I am by no means a professional photographer, nor do I use the very expensive models of cameras.  But, ever since my mom first intorduced me into the wonderful world pf photography~I have been hooked.  Slowly, my snapshots are getting better.  This is actually the sun coming through.  This was taken in Oklahoma Thanksgiving of 2012.  We were just driving around and I snapped this picture!  I love it.

Alright friends, that's all I have.

Dream on,
Britt

Sweatpants Saturday commencement

1-5-13

Hello lovelies!!

Today is a sweatpants Saturday kind of day.  I have this horribly annoying pinched nerve in my back, right by my left shoulder blade!!  It is very painful, I took a 2 hour nap today to hopefully make it go away...no such luck.  Hopefully, I can sleep it off tonight.

Very unproductive day for me today.  So far I have

Cleaned my room
Helped do laundry for the house
....and that's about all.

Onto the photography challenge:

Day 5: Movement.

I took this photo back in November while we were celebrating Thanksgiving in Oklahoma, USA.  We decided to take some Fall family portaits since it's been a couple of years since our last family portrait.  We found some a majestic river to stand by.  I love water in nature.  It is absolutely breathatking and realxing to me.

Keep calm,
Britt

Winter

1-4-13

Hello lovelies!!!

So, I am a little behind on posting my days and the pictures.  It's been just a tad crazy around here at night.  See, mom has been very miserable all week.  She finally went to the doctor and it was confirmed that she has the influenza strand A virus!!  She has been running 102 fevers all week and sounds horrible.  I pray I do not catch this nasty bug!!  I have a slightly weak immune system and I really cannot afford to get sick, I work at a daycare, so if I get the flu-I have to go to the doctor.  YUCK!  Here's to hoping I stay healthy.

Anyways, today's topic is the view from here.

Day 4: The view from here

I took this photo while on break today in my car.  I am in love with the way the trees silohuetted themselves against the bright blue sky.  It truly is captivating to me.

Stay healthy,
Britt

Day 3

1-3-13

Hello lovelies!!!

Today has been a very busy day for me!  I had to go to the college to FINALLY get my schedule taken care of!  Let me tell you, I have had the run around with this school!!!  One minute, I will be done with my associate's this Spring, the next, I won't.

But after a lot of clarification and maybe some sarcastic remarks, all is taken care of and I will be done with my Associate's degree of Arts this May!!  I am beyond ecstatic!  My dreams are all slowly starting to fall into place.  I feel so blessed and finally can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I feel like Will Smith from the movie Independence Day towards my college,

"You and I got some communication issues and we seriously need to work on this"

On top of that, I heard on the radio that we have possible snow chances tonight and tomorrow morning here in Dallas, Texas!!!  Woah-that's crazy!!!

Anyways, onto the photography challenge:

Today's topic: Heart

It's really interesting to try and find hearts in everyday life.  I love that she chose this subject as the topic simply because I have dealt with a lot of issues regarding my heart and feelings since Thanksgiving.

Part of me wanted to use a photo from over the summer.

But, I felt as though that was cheating.  I saw the leaf heart, but my camera was dead.  So I had my momma take this for me.  Plus, it was taken over the summer and not today.  So I decided to opt out of that photo and find my own heart picture.

When I came home today from my toddlers, I found the perfect thing for heart.  This is also very near and dear to my heart.  No, I did not edit the photo-I sneezed right as I took that photo.  Perfect blur!  I am so very proud of it!

Day 3: Heart

Alright guys, that's all I have for today.

Stay warm,
Britt

Photography challenge day 2

1-2-13 Photography Challenge Day 2

Hello lovlies!!

Finally caught up with the challenge and getting them published.

Man, what a day it was!!  First day back to work after a very relaxing 4 day weekend.  I enjoyed every minute of that holiday break, it was definitely needed!

Todays topic:  NEW

I finally feel like an adult.  See, I am not one to go shopping all the time and buy myslef pretty things from nice places.  Or at least, I wasn't.  However, after going on a shopping spree with my mom, there was a store that she found and it just happens to have my name all over it!  I finally purchased myself a new wallet and purse that was over $10.00 original purchase!!!  I am so proud of my new purse and wallet!!!

Such a girl,
Britt

Photography challenge day 1: Today

1-1-13

Hello lovelies!!!

I am not late on getting the photos up-I am late on getting it published!  But anyways, the challenge for today is: Today. So here it is!

Today

What a neat little challenge....Today.  You could interpret that phrase many different ways.  Today is a day about moving on, finding what you want from this year, making goals to complete tasks completely.  Starting new.  So today I spent my time making a journal/scrapbook.  I love to do both, but found it very difficult to keep up with Project Life and journaling on a nightly basis on top of all my other things I do on a daily basis.  So, after watching this video...

http://youtu.be/pxtKMTNPWZY

I became inspired to combine all of my elements into one to remember, live and cherish.

Keep calm and breathe,
Britt

3-6-5. That's all it is!

Hey guys!!!

So I am very new to this whole blogging thing, but here it goes.  My name is Brittany.  I am a dreamer.  For instance, I picture you sitting here reading this in your pajamas, bath robe and slippers with a cup of coffee or tea in your hand.  I am from Texas, USA and am in my 20s.  I am currently in college, as an interdisciplinary major-an Elementary teacher.  I have just one more semester to go and I will be done with my associates degree!!!  Yay!  Just 1 more year and the really exciting stuff starts!  I work around children almost 24/7!!  I am currently a toddler teacher assistant at a very prestigous daycare and I also am a 2nd grade bible study teacher.  In my free time, I tap into my passions-cooking, photography, and crafting.  I see life better through my lens.  This year, my main resolution is---Me.  Anything including all about me.  So, as part of my resolutions, I have decided to start a blog. On this blog you will find things like: recipes with complete directions on how to make/bake it, random photography publishings, funny stories from life and maybe some inspirational ones too!

So I did some internet browsing and found a really neat photography challenge.  A photo a day.  Just 365 photos, that's it!!  So here it goes.  I hope you enjoy your stay!  You can find the challenge here:
http://fatmumslim.com.au/january-2013-photo-a-day-lets-do-this-thing/

In the past, I haven't been so successful with various challenges, but I'm really going to try hard this year at achieving both personal and not so personal challenges. :)  What really stands out to me about this challenge is it is one word, and she gives some helful hints at the bottom!!!  Love it!

Anyways,

Thanks for reading and I look forward to many more cups of tea/coffee with you!

Britt
